Karyn's singing career has had an interesting trajectory. At the ripe old age of 13, she cut her teeth on studio work by collaborating with Mighty Mouth on the rap single, "La Ronda's Song." The song received airplay on local R&B radio station KSOL and had a live performance on "Magic Number Video."

In her early twenties she began singing background vocals and touring with Dove Award winning gospel singer/songwriter, Ron Kenoly. Her time as a member of Ron's team was invaluable as that's where she found her voice and her soul. R&B, jazz, and gospel will always be the music of her heart.

The early 90's brought lead and background vocal work on Sure Conviction's self titled first album and background vocals on the folksy/gospel album Loving Grace by Carri Wedemeyer & Billy Harvey.

In 1994, Karyn attended American Musical Theatre of San Jose's Artists Institute. There, she developed a passion for acting as well as vocal performance. She has been appearing in plays and musical theater ever since.

Back in California, she partnered with bay area vocalist, Juanita Harris, to form J/K Cabareta unique act of musical theatre, jazz, and R&B standards, performing at local jazz joints, theatres, and music halls.
